"The X-Prisoner" was inspired by the The Prisoner Red Blend from The Prisoner Wine Company. The Prisoner was inspired by “mixed blacks” first made by the Italian immigrants who originally settled in Napa Valley. Blends like The X-Prisoner are leading the resurgence of unique blends by incorporating Zinfandel with the unlikely mix of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah, Syrah, and Chilean Malbec and aged 30 months in Hungarian Oak barrels.
